Comedy & Tragedy

July is a month of comedy & tragedy.

Wendy & Hafiz sealed their holy matrimony with a nice wedding lunch over the weekend ( will be updating that soon ). Caroline's & Irin's (Gan) last working day with P&G. Father Foisson's sad demise last week. I went to an event @ the worst club. My PC is getting crankier by the day. I went to the coolest concert. I hanged out with one of the coolest bunch of friends I got @ the coolest place. Work is hanging in greater limbo. Emo bands is monopolising the radio stations. The timing of buses is getting unpredictable. I got moblised by SAF on a Sunday. Got paid $7.56 for being mobilised on a Sunday. Job market is getting better. I seeing lesser of my friends. Health is a growing priority.

Life is full of drama but who's watching it?

Mediate

Hallucinate
Dessegregate
Mediate
Alleviate
Try not to hate
Love your mate
Don't suffocate on your own hate
Designate your love as fate
A one world state
As human freight
The number eight
A white black state
A gentle trait
The broken crate
A heavy weight
Or just too late
Like pretty Kate has sex ornate
Now devastate
Appreciate
Depreciate
Fabricate
Emulate
The truth dilate
Special date
The animal we ate
Guilt debate
The edge serrate
A better rate
The youth irate
Deliberate
Fascinate
Deviate
Reinstate
Liberate
To moderate
Recreate
Or detonate
Annihiliate
Atomic fate
Mediate
Clear the state
Activate
Now radiate
A perfect state
Food on plate
Gravitate
The Earth's own weight
Designate your love as fate
At ninety-eight we all rotate
Liberate

11 Things Women Don't Know About Men. Plus one thing they probably do know, but won't admit

1. Getting angry at us for not reading your mind is like getting angry at yourself for not being able to fly. It's not just futile, it's physically impossible.
2. Yes, we do think Jessica Alba is hot. Sometimes we're even dumb enough to admit it.
3. Don't ask us to understand your shoe fetish. Asking us to respect it is even sort of pushing it.
4. You do look good without makeup, just not as good as you look with it.
5. Ever notice how we don't fight with our male friends? That's why we get so frustrated when we fight with you.
6. You care what you're wearing infinitely more than we do. In fact, if you're naked when you open the front door, you won't hear an argument from us.
7. You don't like to get hit on in public, you don't want to date online and you don't want to be set up on blind dates. Tell us if sending messenger pigeons is an appropriate way of courting. Because if it is, we're all over it.
8. There should a statute of limitations on stupid things that we said that can come back to haunt us. I propose 24 hours.
9. Cooking dinner for a man is like buying flowers for a woman, except it takes a lot more time, effort and thought for you to do it. Thanks. We appreciate it.
10. We actually like your girly pet-names for us, but please, not in front of the guys!
11. Just because we like looking at the women in Maxim doesn't mean we want to actually converse with the women in Maxim. Not for long, anyway.
12. Your nice guy friends are the most reliable source for telling you if your new boyfriend's a jerk. And he probably is. (By the way, you might want to consider marrying that nice guy who's giving you advice about the jerk.)

Is it a sign?

A rather rare thing happened in a cab today en route to my warehouse for an official business. Usually, some taxis have some expired periodicals for our reading pleasure aka "Please do not chat with me coz I not interested with your issues with the Goverment". Well this taxi had copies of "Our Daily Bread: Food For the Soul" stuffed at the back of the seats. Strange but true...

Being a non-staunch Catholic, I actually picked it up & read it. It kinda got stranger in my context that this page popped in front of me. The title was "To Have One, Be One". It talked about friends. How we viewed friends as kids & as adults. However, I was took into the Bible's perspective on friends. I shan't go into details but I will quote an interesting one onto the blog.

"I went outside to find a friend
But could not find one there;
I went outside to be a friend,
And friends were everywhere!"

I had date with Jacky Cheung

Yes boys & girls, I attended the most anticipated concert in Singapore. A concert held by the 'Idol of Idols', 'Singer of Singers', 'God of Songs', the one & only Jacky Cheung

Whatever reports you read on this concert on various newspapers, IT'S TRUE!! He's enigmatic, uber talented & has a God-given impeccable vocals cords. This man is 46 years old! For a person with such talent & able to last for 23 years, he deserves a salute from me.

With the tickets being bought like months ahead & were close to being sold out in March, we trooped to the Singapore Indoor Stadium with adrenaline slowly filling up in our lethargic Sunday bodies.

The ticket to the concert of the year

Nancy-jie, Me, KC, Huiyi & Derrick

Like any other events, we all love to pose for a picture or 2.

Caroline, Nancy-jie, KC, Me, Derrick, Kok Hwee & Huiyi

Caroline & Boyfriend ( son of the owner of Han's restaurant )

The show started @ 2015hrs sharp & it was a start of a roller coaster ride. He sang a few upbeat songs & couple of songs from his new chinese album. We were taken a trip through memory lane when he started to sing cantonese & mandarin songs which we were so familiar with. Songs that were part of the different phases of our lives. We were so drawn into his songs that I think we only started breathing when there were intervals.

The concert ended with a great bout of encores & we were not left disappointed. We continued our own mini Jacky Cheung concert in Nancy-jie's car. Humming & singing to those songs we heard or those we loved that were not sang in the concert.

Those who are asking 'Hey how come got no pics during the concert huh?'. Well, boys & girls, it is prohibited to do so. If you try to, a laser beam will be shot at you, singling out & embarassing you in front thousands of people & most probably you be arrested, spending time in a nice 'luxury suite' & getting your 15 minutes of fame of your lifetime the next day.

Well that's all boys & girls! Tired from the editing & drafting this entry. More to come ....

So lame

I overheard a lame conversation of sorts between a guest & the owner's daughter in a kelong over the weekend during dinner. It was in Mandarin & I will translate in English for all to understand. It went like this:

Boss's daughter: Be careful, the steamboat is hot
Guest: Excuse me, what kind of steamboat is this?
Boss's daughter: It is fish steamboat
Guest: Is it? So nice! Do we need to cook the fish ourselves?
Boss's daughter: Oh no need, we have put the fish in the steamboat. Let it cook for 5 mins. But not too long coz the fish will be overcook then it will not taste nice.
Guest: Oh is it? The fish is already swimming in the steamboat!
Boss's daughter: ..................

Lame-O-meter: 9.5 out of 10

Reminiscence

Last night I had a small dinner with my secondary school mates of whom I had not seen them since we graduated from school

Dinner was done @ Fish & Co @ Paragon as it was pretty convenient for a friend who was working @ a rather 'chi chi' boutique. It started off with rather cliche & of course polite greetings & questions like ' How are you? Where are you working now? OMG, Serious, No Way!!" Things really picked up while we were waiting for our food & drinks. The bitchiness & over the top laughter were of course had mellowed over the years but we still packed a few witty bitchy liners like we used to.

We drove down to PS Cafe @ Dempsey Road for drinks after dinner. The ambience was good. Our interesting conversations continue over there. We were like a bunch of over-excited teenagers of then, getting excited over root beer floats & a whole list of desserts of diabetic proportions but of course due to our current fitness levels & growing waistline, we skipped dessert & stuck to drinks instead.

Reminiscence was pretty much made the agenda the night. To be honest, we have not changed much. The nonchalant attitude, opinionated thinking, nonsense spouting & chronic anarchic streaks had stuck with us through these years.

Last night's event had got me thinking though about friendships. Some prefer to meet up every week or on a regularly basis that goes on for years till present. Some held on to grudges & dis-contentment just faded away making parts of memories in our lifes. A relationship interwined by the hands of the Almighty which many of us take for granted.

foreward of a blog

I just told a couple of my gal friends that I started a blog. Well one of them was pretty surprise. She asked me what made me to start a blog. Well it's either I didn't wrote a dairy when I was younger ( pls lor ... I would rather spend my time 'pong' classes, participate in pure anarchy in school or playing mahjong ) or I was influence by some friends of mine.

Well boys & girls, it's neither. I just need an avenue to channel my non-sensical yet thought provoking inane blabber. I think this is a nice arena to whack smack many things I encounter, experience or exposed to. It's the dawn of a new day people!

I shan't be blabbering much now coz I am STILL not into this.

finally...........

Finally, I have actually started blogging. Well I wanted an auspicious day to start a blog & I guess 7.7.7 is a coool date after all

As this is my virginal blog, I guess there will be expectations what to write & stuff. Well boys & girls there is will not be any laspe of expecations.

Well I not be so detail for today as I all watching Live Earth now. Of coz the intention can be 'sceptical for many but hey it's for a good cause & I believe there are many who are so damn ignorant.

Ok Ok enough of the rambling........ Laters.....
